I started photography while in the Army in 1976 and brought my first SLR camera a Pentax at this time. It was used mainly for taking pictures around Germany both on and off duty along with family pictures while home on leave. After leaving the Army I continued to take pictures but now they were just family, friends and holidays. I started visiting racing circuits and taking pictures of friends racing motor cycles and brought a new camera with a speed priority setting, along with a couple of lenses, to help with the pictures of fast moving subjects. Getting married and moving to Gloucestershire curtailed the motor racing pictures. However a new family and the Forest of Dean still gave plenty of opportunities for the odd picture taking excursion.
The Digital revolution in the shape of a compact camera rekindled my interest, and a Digital SLR in 2005 meant that I was taking a lot more pictures both for me and other people. An interest in Computing helped the process as playing around with Digital images on a computer, e-mail and web sites all means that my pictures are available to a much wider audience..
